The Big Red Ball, or BRB, is a spherical magnetic mirror-style confinement vessel hosting a wide range experimental capabilities.

The device and lab are part of the Wisconsin Plasma Physics Lab and were constructed in part through a Major Research Instrumentation grant from the National Science Foundation. BRB utilizes 18 rings of alternating-polarity magnets to confine the plasmas it generates.
