The Cold Spray Deposition Lab specializes in cold spray coating technology applicable to fusion energy devices.

Part of the Nuclear and Applied Materials Research Group at UW–Madison, the Cold Spray Lab is equipped with a commercial scale, high pressure CGT 4000-34 Kinetik system and encompasses a wide range of metallic materials. They have expertise in cold spray coatings for accident-tolerant fuel cladding and the production of free-standing cladding tubes, both beneficial to the advancement of fusion technologies.
